Music with Mummy...

We spotted an offer on Facebook and went along for a free trial of Music with Mummy today. Honey made herself at home straight away in Sarah's lovely, comfortable setting and really enjoyed interacting with the other babies and their Mum's during the 30 minute session. There were some familiar songs like Incy Wincy Spider and some that we hadn't come across before. We also spent time playing with bubbles, scarves and letting the babies soak up some classical music. As you can see, Honey was exhausted by the whole experience!

Kiss Kiss...

We had a potter round The Wilson, Cheltenham's newly refurbished museum and art gallery, today. Honey slept through most of it but I learnt a lot about Cheltenham's past and famous Cheltonians through history. It was also great to see Rodin's 'The Kiss' after reading about the fabulous Two Front Teeth's recreation of the pose using live (brave) models! We will definitely be taking Honey there again as they run a Tots and Tales story session there on the first Wednesday of every month which sounds fun! Also, I need to take her back when she's a little bit older so I have an excuse for sitting at a tiny table and colouring in a picture of a penguin, I really wanted to do that today but felt I probably couldn't get away with it (especially given that Honey had fallen asleep by this point)!

New class coming soon...

We were lucky enough to take part in a photo shoot for a new music class coming soon! Zaphira (of Miniature Music, formerly uke tots, fame) taught us a couple of very catchy songs and took some photos of the babies having fun with their grown ups. She was also kind enough to do some family portraits for each family that came along. Honey loved meeting lots more babies and really enjoyed singing with Mummy and Daddy.

I want to ride my bicycle...

Honey and I haven't been able to go out on Princess Poppy much lately, so we were delighted to finally experience a sunny day today! Honey's giggles as we whizzed along were priceless and worth having to re-learn how to ride a bike (bow-legged) to accommodate her in front of me!

Every day's a school day...

After weeks of 'will they, won't they', Honey and I were lucky enough to attend the Babywearing Peer Supporter course with The School of Babywearing. After arriving early (Honey didn't mind, as she got to have a sneaky go in the soft play room), the day at Blue Skies whizzed by in a blur of slings, rings, carriers and wraps. I'd never seen so many slings and carriers in one place in all my life, some of them were so beautiful and if money were no object, I could have quite easily bought about 10! A wide range of people attended, from complete novices like me, to very experienced babywearers who were brilliant at giving helpful tips when I got confused by straps and tangled up in fabric. The course is the next step of my foray into Sling Beat teaching, visit www.facebook.com/slingbeat or slingbeat.weebly.com for the latest information.

Jive Bunnies...

We were alerted to Honey's latest adventure by some good friends who attend Jive Bunnies on a regular basis.  Hearing such glowing reports about the class got us thinking so we emailed Jodie from Jive Bunnies and she was kind enough to offer us a taster session. The class was AWESOME! Each activity was designed to engage both parents (guessing and discussing songs) and children (playing instruments in time with the music and performing simple dance moves) and the half hour session flew by!  Jodie is so enthusiastic during each new game and carries everyone else on her wave of excitement and her singing, wow, I totally agreed with the little lady who stared at her in awe during the end lullaby! The venue was set up perfectly for baby groups with a large hall for dancing, a comfy seated area for snacking and chatting afterwards and even a little kitchen with tea and coffee making facitilties. Jive Bunnies definitely makes our top three! :-)
