Minor Ailments Service...

A few people I've already shared this with have commented how useful it is to know, hence this post. This is a really good tip I came across on Facebook and could save you time and money when your little one is ill. According to the Boots website 'If you don't pay for prescriptions, you may be able to receive advice and be given a medicine for a range of minor ailments, free of charge, on the NHS, without having to visit your doctor first. Minor ailments could include coughs, colds, headaches, hay fever, insect bites and stings, eczema, earache and diarrhoea.' It's worth bookmarking the NHS service search link for future reference whether you're at home or away.

@ Bristol...

We met up with my best friend and her little boy for a rather intellectual play date today. It took us about an hour and a quarter to drive from Cheltenham to Bristol, where we parked in the Millennium Square car park, the closest car park to @Bristol. A word of warning here, this car park is EXPENSIVE. Next time, we are definitely going to use the park and ride service to save ourselves some money and avoid battling with the city centre traffic! Once inside, my friend and I began to wonder whether we should bother with the museum as both children (Honey, nearly 2 and Freddie, 5) were enjoying the play corner in the cafe rather a lot! But in we went and I'm so glad we did. The exhibits are all interactive and while Honey flitted between things, blindly pressing buttons and pulling levers, Freddie was able to find things which interested him and engage with those, regularly stopping to include Honey and tell her all about the things he'd found! Honey was able to play independently in the building zone and enjoyed experimenting with the ball blower. Lunch was delicious in the main cafe, although it took what felt like forever to arrive as they were incredibly busy. We'd definitely go again and would probably combine it with a shopping trip or a visit to the aquarium as its so close to the city centre.

Cinnamon Buns...

When we go on long car journeys, Honey loves to watch Frozen or Peppa Pig on my iPad. While we are happy to let her do this from time to time, we are not happy to listen to it every time! We decided that Bluetooth headphones could be the way forward, so set about finding something suitable for a toddler. An Ebay search suggested Cinnamon Buns and on further inspection, they looked perfect! They are easy to charge, simple to use and fold up neatly once you've finished using them. We are happy to report that Honey finds her headphones comfortable and that our days of turning the volume up on our music to drown out Peppa, are over!

Baby Gym...

Honey was sitting on the naughty step this morning (after putting a stool on the sofa, sitting on it and then face planting on to the rug even though she'd just been told off for doing the same thing) and I could tell that what she needed to do was tear around in a wide open space. Unfortunately, the weather stops us from spending lots of time in the park at the moment and our visits of late have been limited to a quick go on the slide, chucking some bread at the ducks and then heading home to warm up. We live close to Leisure @ in Cheltenham and by chance, they have Baby Gym on a Friday morning  so we decided to burn off some energy there. The session runs from 10:30am -11:5am and takes over half of the sports hall. We walked in, took off our shoes and didn't stop for the full 45 minutes, just what the doctor ordered! The coaches on duty were friendly, helpful and had a lovely way with the children and the equipment had been set up with a lot of thought behind its layout. There was something for everyone, with the smallest babies enjoying some tummy time on rollers and squishy mats and the older ones racing round an obstacle course and climbing up to slide down a fantastic, bouncy slide (Honey's favourite and she had approximately 3941 turns).

As seen on Instagram...

We've been a bit quiet on the blog recently and that's because we've been busy 'baby spamming' on Instagram. If you're not already following us, search 'stephloveshoney', we'd love to see what you've been posting too!
