I'm Stick Man...

I'm a member of a number of Facebook groups where parents recommend activities, classes and places to visit as a family and have been keeping a list of things that sound fun. This week, we ticked the first place off our list. As Scouts, both my husband and I spent a lot of time in The Forest of Dean caving, kayaking and climbing so heading out to Beechenhurst Lodge took us past lots of familiar places. But today wasn't about extreme sports, today we were looking for Stick Man! We paid £3.50 to park (all day fee) then headed to the lodge to use the toilets and purchase a trail pack (£3).

Honey led the way and immediately understood that she had to look out for the different characters and tick them off her list, she also enjoyed trying out the suggested activities at each numbered station. She stomped in and out of dens, built numerous camp fires and nests and balanced on logs. Wellies were a must, as most of the things she wanted to explore were off the main path but most of the walk was fairly sheltered by trees and we didn't really notice that it had started raining until we came out at the end!

At only 1.3 miles, the trail is the perfect length for an active toddler and took us around an hour and a half with all the activities and extra pit stops to collect pine cones, leaves and sticks. There's a cafe for refuelling afterwards and a play area just incase there's still energy to be burned!

Hello to anyone who has found us for the first time, this is the first time we have joined #bigpinklink and we are really looking forward to discovering some new blogs to follow!

Setting things straight...

While I was pregnant with Ace, I was lucky enough to be treated to a course of pregnancy massage and reflexology which you can read about here. The package also included a cranial osteopathy appointment for Ace, which he had when he was a few weeks old. After totally nailing lying down and looking cute whilst being treated, Ace was asked to appear in a promotional video for the wonderful Nurture 4 Life. His starring roll involved him being fast asleep on a treatment couch while being treated by the lovely Katie. Nurture 4 Life specialise in treatments to help with fertility issues, as well as looking after expectant and new mums and their little ones.
