Babies who lunch...

After hearing good things about how child friendly it was, we paid a lunchtime visit to Elmbury Lodge in Tewkesbury today. As soon as we arrived, Honey had her shoes off and set about exploring the soft play area. It's the perfect size for toddlers to play independently as everything is small enough to be manageable by themselves yet interesting enough to keep them engaged. There are lots of tables nearby so you can sit and eat or drink whilst still being where they can see you to wave to, or in Honey's case, if they want to rush over and loudly announce that they need a poo!

The food was cheap and cheerful but came out piping hot and tasted great. There were lots of deals like '2 mains for £10.99' and we also had refillable soft drinks. As well as the free soft play, Elmbury Lodge also provides colouring in sheets and crayons to keep little ones occupied at the table and they have a disco den complete with flashing lights and dance videos to copy!

I can only imagine how busy such a place might get at the weekend and during school holidays, but it's definitely somewhere to consider if you're lucky enough to have some time off during the week.
